Vertical lifeline systems provide continuous fall protection for workers climbing fixed ladders and accessing elevated work areas.
Typical applications include industrial ladders, towers, silos, tanks, chimneys, rooftops, utilities, warehouses, marine facilities and building maintenance access.

Ladder cages gives users a false sense of security, but they do not prevent or arrest a fall if a climber loses their footing or grip.
A worker may still fall down the ladder or become trapped within the cage, potentially increasing the risk of injury and making rescue more difficult.
A vertical lifeline provides active fall protection throughout the climb.

Vertical cable lifeline systems from Securline use a permanently installed stainless-steel cable with a guided fall arrester that travels with the user during ascent and descent. In the event of a fall, the guided fall arrester locks onto the lifeline to arrest the fall.
Systems are designed to EN 353-1 requirements and installed as part of a fall protection solution supporting compliance with Singapore WSH requirements for work at height.

SecurLine® vertical lifeline systems consist of an 8 mm (7×7 strand) 316 stainless-steel cable, top and bottom anchorage assemblies, cable tensioning system, intermediate cable guides installed every 10 m, mounting brackets and a guided fall arrester, forming a complete engineered system. Intermediate guides help control cable movement over longer climbing distances, while dedicated mounting brackets allow the system to be adapted to different ladder and structural configurations. The final configuration is determined by the ladder geometry, supporting structure and site conditions.

1) How does the SecurLine® vertical lifeline work?
The guided fall arrester connects to the front attachment point of an EN 361 harness and moves with the user. In a fall, it locks onto the cable to arrest the fall.
2) How often are intermediate cable guides installed?
SecurLine® recommends an SLV72 intermediate cable guide every 10 metres to control cable movement while allowing uninterrupted climbing.
3) What standards apply to vertical lifeline systems in Singapore?
SecurLine® vertical lifelines are designed to applicable EN 353 requirements and installed as part of a fall protection solution supporting Singapore WSH requirements.
4) Can Action Safety install a vertical lifeline on an existing ladder?
Yes. Action Safety can assess the ladder and structure, design the appropriate SecurLine® configuration, and provide professional installation.
